The Gory Animated Film Ending That Stays With Audiences

Out of all the mature cartoon movies I have personally viewed, nothing has lingered in my mind as much as the terror-laced conclusion of the explicitly bloody and highly provocative 2022 movie Unicorn Wars.

Back in 2015’s, this Spain-based filmmaker crafted a dark, bleak , often savage world that included several minor , forlorn twinges of hope.

Although Unicorn Wars feels like it stemmed from a desire to advance the medium further, the director clarified that it was more an effort to communicate a widespread, cross-cultural message about “the common origin of all wars.”

This theme is expressed through a squad of colorful pastel bears , obviously modeled after a popular series of cuddly characters.

Maturing in a society focused on aggression and the war machine, a lot of these animals are obsessed with slaughtering unicorns, thanks to a religious scripture that tells them they previously were rulers of the woods, before the unicorns expelled them.

A few have not completely bought into the indoctrination, and prefer to try out drugs and fornicate in the woods.

Unlike their gentle equivalents, these vivid animals have visible sexual organs and clear libidos.

For one especially vicious, pessimistic creature, Bluey, the war against the unicorns becomes a path to power — and specifically to supremacy over his softer, more compassionate sibling the character Tubby.

This bear is a bully , an obvious psychopath , and when fear dominates his group and takes his fellow soldiers sequentially, he grabs increasingly influence for himself, via progressively bloody, harmful methods.

Meanwhile, these mythical beings are enduring their own horror, through a spreading, deadly beast in their woods.

“In the early stages, it appears as a lighthearted film,” the filmmaker commented. “Yet it becomes a more intense and melancholic movie. And ultimately, it’s a scary feature.”

Unicorn Wars commences resembling one of the most quirky movies from an iconic animator, which find a naughty glee in allowing drawn beings curse, fire weapons, or sex each other up.

Afterward it turns into closer to a darker film from the same artist, with increasingly explicit brutality and a tangible connection to genuine tragedy of conflict.

Ultimately, it becomes a complete extreme drama bloodbath.

The terror that turns this a perfect Halloween watch begins much sooner than indicated.

The Unicorn Wars is suited for the most dedicated gorehounds, for fans of intense movies who wish to see something they haven’t ever watched previously, and who can handle a plot that pulls absolutely no punches.

Watch it in a dark room free from interruptions, and the conclusion will burrow under your skin and stay with you.
