JP Morgan Notified American Government About Over $1 Billion in Epstein-Linked Financial Activities Potentially Tied to Trafficking Operations

Newly unsealed records disclose that JP Morgan filed a SAR in 2019 warning government regulators about over $1 billion in transactions connected to Jeffrey Epstein that were potentially connected to trafficking activities.

Bank's Comprehensive Documentation of Questionable Activity

The banking giant flagged approximately nearly five thousand financial activities totaling over $1 billion that appeared potentially linked to trafficking allegations concerning Epstein, as reported in the newly released court documents.

This documentation was filed just weeks after Epstein was found dead in a Manhattan detention facility and also highlighted electronic payments made by Epstein to Russian banks.

Prominent Figures Named in Report

The SAR identified several well-known corporate leaders and individuals in connection with the flagged transactions, including:

  • The Apollo co-founder, that departed from Apollo Global Management in 2021
  • Glenn Dubin, an established financial executive
  • The noted attorney, who served as legal counsel for Epstein
  • Financial entities controlled by retail tycoon the retail magnate

This documentation specifically identified $65 million in electronic payments from the 2000s era that appeared to move between various financial institutions linked to the Wexner-controlled entities.

Legal and Political Examination

JP Morgan's long-standing association with the convicted sex offender has emerged as a focus of significant legal scrutiny and political attention.

These released records were part of legal proceedings from 2023 filed by the US Virgin Islands, where Epstein owned a personal island property and conducted the majority of his financial affairs.

Furthermore, victims of trafficking by Epstein also were involved in the lawsuit, which JP Morgan ultimately resolved.

Financial Institution's Response and Regulatory Context

An official representative for the bank commented that the release of the SARs shows the institution had notified oversight authorities about the financier as required.

The spokesperson emphasized: "The SARs do confirm what was previously suspected: the bank filed SARs about Epstein early on, and specifically when it exited him from the bank in 2013 – and repeatedly between 2013 and 2019, as required."

She added: "There is no indication that anyone in the government or investigative agencies acted on those SARs for years."

Personal Responses and Legal Position

Spokespeople for the named individuals have issued various responses regarding their mention in the report:

  • Glenn Dubin's representative asserted that the transactions in question were unrelated to the financier's illegal activities
  • The attorney maintained the sole payments he obtained from Epstein were for legal services
  • Leon Black's representative declined to comment

It is important to note, not one of the persons named in the documentation have been charged with crimes in relation to the financier.
