Approximately 50 automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Officers report they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.
The liquid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Officers then discovered numerous other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials state preliminary tests suggest the liquid was probably human blood.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; officials are presently not aware of any harm in connection with the incident," they added.
Municipal representatives said they were working "to resolve the case" and have requested to the community for information.
A senior political figure said the attack rendered him stunned and needed to be resolved quickly.
"This incident hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on online, referring to the death of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on residents of migrant background in five years prior.
